Horizons
2019
Artist Statement:
As a child I've never really spent much time at the beach. Even though I've spent my whole life on Long Island, New york, which is surrounded by water. For this project, I wanted it to be an admiration for the beach/body of water. Each photo is taken at different locations around Long Island. They were also taken in different times of day and weather. I wanted to show different view points of to what people would consider being their "beach". From doing this project, I've learned that even when its gloomy, foggy, or rainy, people still go to beach as a place to relax.
Pennsylvania
2019
Artist Statement:
This group of work is based from my first trip to Pennsylvania. I am from Long Island, New York, where the lifestyle is very Suburban, in comparison to Pennsylvania where the lifestyle is more Rural. I wanted to do a small memoir on my time spent there over the weekend with friends. As a reminder that it's good to be unplugged from the world, creating real moments and memories with people that happen to mean a lot to me.
"EQUIVALENTS" PT.2
2019
Artist Statement:
This group of work is based on Alfred Stieglitz's Equivalents. This is an homage to Stieglitz's work while also as an admiration for life. What inspired me was Stieglitz's idea of how the way the clouds' abstraction can also be a way to show emotion with each different texture and color. No matter how hard you can try, the clouds will never be placed in the same formation. We will always be looking at something that is continually changing.
